I'm in true denial that it's about to become frigid cold despite being born and raised AND living in the Northeast my whole life. Why don't I just move to Cali? No one knows. It's November and this is where the game is supposed to change from fun fashion pieces in hues of grey, burgundy and beige to channeling hibernation for the long winter ahead. Here I am trying to salvage as much of fall fashion that is left by doing one of the most classic and loved concepts in fashion: color-blocking. A lot of times people tend to think you need to wear similar colors in order for the outfit to look right, but one of my favorite things to do instead is find a range of colors that just "go," and mix/match instead. Red and blue always complement each other, so that was easy. I kept the shoes nude to keep the look clean and added a final staple of color with the dark, emerald green bag. Some easy colors to color-block with are the following: purple/black/nude/grey | tan or beige with either grey/white/red/green OR grey/purple/black | navy/white/dark green/purple. The best way to color-block is to see what catches your eye and try it on together. Sometimes pieces don't look quite the same as they did in our heads and you have to truly see it for yourself. This outfit in particular worked out better than expected for me. And I had an amazing time shooting it with @17.Eclipse! We plan on teaming up again in the future so it looks like I won't be hibernating this winter. Bittersweet.
